A Study on the Perceptual Self-concept and Job Satisfaction of Clinical Nurses

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between self-concept and job satisfaction.
Data were collected using a two-part questionnaires between May, 1st and May, 31st, 1992.
Subjects were 210 i .urses who are working at a general hospital in Ulsan.
Data were analized by SPSS program (percentage, mean score, oneway, Pearson correlation coefficient).
The results were as follows:
1. The mean score of the perceptual self-concept was 3.853.
2. The mean score of the job satisfaction was 3.337.
3. In comparison with general characteristics:
1) The perceptual self-concept was differed by age (P < .05), marital status (P < .05).
2) The job satisfaction was differed by age (P < .05), religion (P < .05), position (P < .05), clinical experience (P < .05).
4. The correlation of perceptual self-concept and job satisfaction was (r= .475, P < .001).
